Cecelia Ahern Instagram – My latest novel FRECKLES is out now and I can’t thank you enough for the incredible response to this book. My main character, Allegra, nicknamed Freckles is from Valentia Island in Co. Kerry and moves to Dublin. The novel is partly set in Valentia Island, and though Kerry is my spirit home, I took a little research trip while I was writing it a few years ago, to walk in Allegra’s shoes. What was it like for her returning home? What was her view? How did it sound? How did it smell? I feel, see, hear and smell when I write so I like to experience it for real before or during the process. I always believe if I can see it then I can write it, living it is even better. Here’s a few pics and videos of Allegra’s home and the car ferry she worked on, all day every day watching the Knightstown red clock tower on the pier as she came and went, wondering about where else the world can take her and where she can find her place to fit in… 💖
