On my birthday, every year, I tell my mom, “Happy Birthday”. It’s as much a celebration of the day she birthed a child as it is my blessing to be given this life to be her son, her prince, and a piece of her legacy. So, “happiest of birthdays to my sweet warrior queen, Mama G!”, I love you to the outer galaxies and back — Pops too!!! Cause I cannot mention mama G without so too mentioning the great and brilliant game-changing pioneer Papa G, the Kenyan frontiersman who braved an ocean with nothing but a single Ulysses S. Grant a suitcase and a dream. “Happiest of birthday’s to Papa G”, my life’s not possible without your vision, sacrifices and love for my mama.
BEST 🎁 this year (once again!) is sis surprising me like a true G, though she’s hella smart cause she knows I’ma turn it into her birthday. It’s a joy to be able to spoil her while we all still here, so for her, the principessa of the G clan, ANYTHING. Wanna re-create our childhood pizza birthdays? Done. Breakfast in bed while you’re on vacation? I got you.
Today, I’m grateful to be alive and healthy, excited for the year to come, the creative opportunities bending before me, though, in truth, health is number one as Father Time will remain undefeated, always. Thank you god for reasoning to keep me breathing.
And thank you to my LOVE for keeping me spicy, young and always on my toes. With you by my side I get to stay a kid, and we all want that deep inside, don’t we. That which you give effortlessly. So today, we celebrate like ultimate bambini.
