Beyond excited to see the Colorado athletic commission is looking to potentially remove cannabis all together from their “prohibited substance list” the year after I was granted a therapeutic use exemption recognizing it as MEDICINE 🌿

With the help of my console @erikmagraken we argued not only did I sufficiently show cannabis was the best medicine to deal with my condition of bi-lateral neuropathy. Along with the half dozen doctors providing the paper work to prove it, all while other first line medications like opioids, painkillers and anti-depressants were a detriment to me as both patient AND athlete. They agreed. #precedent !

In addition, @erikmagraken and I argued the current standard of test was inaccurate for a variety of reasons: everybody & body is different, so tests via fat soluble markers have different results per weight & even gender which can make it difficult to have a real standard. Cannabis should be treated no different as any other medicine as it’s effects wear off within hours, not days like actual “performance enhancing” substances it was lumped into. The important thing is not being impaired when you fight. Just like how they check with alcohol & other meds. They agreed.

Now it looks like they’ve taken my case study & are looking to possibly make it retroactive for ALL athletes moving forward in Colorado. Couldn’t be more humbled and thrilled that the fruits of my 6 year fight are coming true.
