Today is world refugee day. I often feel frustrated at the heartless policies our major political parties stand for when it comes to people seeking asylum. It doesn’t align with my vision of Australia nor our rich migrant history. The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre @asrc1 is a non-profit organisation supporting & empowering people seeking asylum as they rebuild their lives. Today is the #asrctelethon : a day spent raising funds to support front line services, & celebrate the strength and resilience of refugees and asylum seekers and the incredible contribution they make to our community. So if you too feel like there is ‘something’ you want to do, ‘somewhere’ you want to direct your support, @asrc1 is the place & today is the day. I am auctioning one of my photography prints shot in Jordan whilst on assignment cover the Syrian refugee crisis.
