Working on this show involving the history of racism in LA has changed my life. To say that there was “a lot” I didn’t realize and a lot I was not repentant for is the understatement of the century. I can’t unsee what I’ve seen in the last few months. And I wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. I was wrong. I was ignorant. I wasn’t repentant on behalf of my people and city because I thought it wasn’t my fault and I wasn’t involved. For all white people reading this post: freedom is on the other side of facing this conversation! Seek it out and join me. Seek truth. Educate yourself. Get uncomfortable. It’s worth it.
