Anuna De Wever Instagram – For far too long I have pushed away my femininity and the woman inside me.
Because I’m non-binary, patriarchy made me believe I could not be both, and I had to push away all the ‘woman’ I was, to become the man I wanted to be.
I’ve loved all the beautiful, powerful and vulnerable things in the woman next to me, but hated it about myself. And now, I want to apologize to myself. For believing this restrictive version of what femininity looks like.
It is my biggest ally, my greatest force and a crucial part of ‘me’ that I’ve finally learned to love. I see that now. My womanhood is only, and solely, defined by me and what I want it to be.
And so today on #womansday I want to remind you of the infinity womanhood holds.
