Hannah Stocking Instagram – Like any ecosystem, coral reefs can withstand and adapt to certain impacts. But the combination of multiple stresses of global changes in ocean temperature and acidification, with local pressures such as pollution, overfishing and declining water quality, has led to changes that could become irreversible within the next few decades. BUT! The team at @coralgardeners has plans to change that! They have found ways to plant SUPER CORALS which are a coral species strong enough to survive extreme conditions and rapid changes in the marine environment! 🐠🐋 I’m very proud be to an ambassador for @coralgardeners and continue to help fix the coral issue we are facing. The world needs more corals because 1) the ridges in coral reefs act as barriers providing crucial protection from threats such as tsunamis. 2) they help protect areas such as mangrove forests and seagrass beds that act as nurseries for marine animals, 3) just like plants, they provide oxygen for us to breathe! 🐡🦭 French Polynesia
