One day late, but I had to post this to commemorate a pretty historic moment. For the last 25 years #DeafHistoryMonth always landed on March 13th-April 15th, celebrating milestones like the opening of America’s first School for the Deaf, the founding of Gallaudet University, and the DPN Movement.
THIS year, the month was changed to the entirety of April to include the experiences and achievements of the BIPOC Deaf community as well!
Which marks this Shakespeare Day as the FIRST one to fall on Deaf History Month (and if you’ve known me the past year- that makes it a pretty cool day!) The fact I got to spend it with all these damn fine artists who were so eager to learn some Sign with me just for this is… beyond words ✨
Love this cast, love this job, love the bard, and love learning more about this community every day 🙌👏
