Rukmini Vijayakumar Instagram – Happy Women’s day to all! Whatever privileges we enjoy as women today, we owe to the generations before us who have fought for it.

It might seem ridiculous to some people who think that women make an unnecessary fuss about being equal etc. but the truth is that we fight for it constantly in one way or another. Yes it is definitely better now than it used to be for women in the previous generations…. But it’s because so many strong women like my mother have made it possible to come this far. It’s also because of loving kind men like my father who never saw a girl differently from a boy.

I’m sharing a picture of the woman I admire the most, My mother. Strong, vocal, opinionated, loving, and willing fight to death for the family….

I know you all have women like this in your lives… they maybe your mothers, grandmothers, sisters, friends, teachers…. And they have supported your dreams and made so much possible.

It’s our duty as women to continue to do the same for others, to pass on this legacy of strength and stand up for the women who surround us. We need to make it better for the next generation, and continue this circle of support and love!
