August Maturo Instagram – Today is #internationalredsneakersday – a special day to spread food allergy awareness, for people living with food allergies, like me. @redsneakersforoakley was inspired by a young boy named Oakley who had a nut allergy and lost his life after eating a piece of cake that contained walnut extract. Oakley loved his red sneakers and they have become a powerful symbol of the need for greater education and awareness about food allergies.
