Guy Martin Instagram – Guy was looking forward to another run out on the BSA at Tandragee this weekend but couldn’t get the bits he needed in time to build it back up again after the Cookstown issue, so a quick call was made to Les and Denise Whiston at Trident MCS. “Any chance for a bike to ride this weekend?” Without hesitation they loaded their BSA Rocket 3, booked a ferry and headed to their first ever Irish Road Race with Guy. It was all looking good Friday night, Guy got some good laps in and ended up second on the grid for the following days race! Sadly the weather had other plans and the race meeting was abandoned. Hard decision for the club to make but the right one. Guy Martin Instagram – This weekend saw Guy head to the Cookstown 100 on Les And Denise Wiston at Trident MCS Rob North Triple. He qualified on pole for the Senior Classic on Friday but unfortunately some mechanical issues meant a retirement when battling for the lead. Back in the shed with the bike in bits already! Thanks as always to Alan who works with Guy over the weekends. Also thank you to Mark Johnson and his mechanic Robert for sharing their awning with Guy. Guy travels with his van, his bike, a toolbox, a toothbrush and his mug. So the hospitality was much appreciated. Irish Road Racing will always be a big part of Guy’s racing, there’s nothing quite like it when it comes to racing and atmosphere. A huge thanks to the club for putting on a great meeting, to everyone involved from medics to marshals and fans! Hopefully won’t be too long before he is back over for some more real road racing. #guymartin #realroadracing #irishroadracing
