Brittany Daniel Instagram – I wanted to share a film project with you that my friend @AjaraeColeman is making. It’s called Divine Mother, and it’s a story about pregnancy loss and what it means to be a mother, told through the journey of a couple on a road trip through the Southwest. 1 in 5 pregnancies ends in a miscarriage…  and more if you count unknown pregnancies… which is why it makes no sense that so many women feel alone when they go through it. Also, Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women, because of issues like access to healthcare, implicit bias, and structural racism. More people need to know about this! These are the issues explored in the film, and the mission of the project is to raise awareness and start conversations that will make a difference in the world.
