Debbie Matenopoulos Instagram – There are a lot of great things about living in Southern California but one of my favorite things would have to be having access to the freshest and most delicious citrus I have ever had in my life. I am lucky enough to have a lot of citrus trees in my backyard that produce the sweetest oranges, tangerines, mandarins and grapefruits. Not to mention the lime and lemon trees which are great for making homemade lemonade and limeade. Because we have such an abundance of fruit, I like to try and use it in as many recipes as I can and what I can’t use I give to friends and neighbors. So, Alexandra wanted to make a cake this past weekend and instead of making my traditional Lemon Olive Oil cake from my cookbook and which is also featured on my new website iamdebbiem.com I decided to make it an ORANGE Olive Oil cake and WOW…was it a crowd pleaser! I shoulda made two!!! I baked it in this cute heart shaped baking pan I got from @target in honor of Valentines Day which is right around the corner.
