Polina Pushkareva Instagram – Film industry: expectations vs reality
Tap-tap like❤️
I consider cinema to be the most romanticized industry in the world. We see only a beautiful picture, and ordinary people can’t even imagine what’s going on in reality. So I had a lot of expectations and stupid hopes. And here are the stupidest and the most naive:
1. Actors. We see these people as some cool characters and unconsciously fall in love with them. But they are often very closed-minded people who ignore everyone. The actors are accustomed to get great attention and don’t always realize that they are just ordinary people. That’s why they allow themselves too much, expecting them to just get away with it.
2. Not the actors make the most money on movies, but producers. Producers receive from 5 to 50% of the film’s sales. The film’s sales bring tens and hundreds of millions of dollars. Actors earn much less. But few people talk about it, because the producers don’t disclose their salaries.

3. The main characters are given not to those who are the most talented, but to those who sell the film well. For example, there are two candidates. One is a super brilliant but not famous young actor. The second is a worse actor, but he has 10 million followers. Guess who they’ll choose?
4. It’s fun. Even if some super scary movie is being filmed, all the actors hang out and have fun behind the camera. Plus, every day something new and cool happens on the film sets.
5. Filming takes a LOT of time. Even 30 seconds can be filmed during the whole day. Plus, often actors have to just wait for a lot of time. For example, you will shoot for one or two hours during a 12-hour shift. And then you just wait for other scenes and close-ups of the actors to be shot, and so on.

Well, do you still think filming is so easy and funny? Los Angeles, California | Posted on 04/Apr/2022 22:13:40
