Sayani Gupta Instagram – The best part about travelling is you meet people and make new friends.
The best part about travelling alone is you always go with your instinct make decisions that only you could have made.
As my 18 day trip comes closer to the finish line.. I am bathed with love and warmth I was fortunate enough to gather.. from strangers.. people I will never meet in my life perhaps.. but we still managed to share some smiles, joy & candour.
The woman who was helping me at the duty free at Frankfurt heard I had been to Vienna and turns out, is a western classical singer &tutor & performs regularly at both Vienna &Prague.We bid goodbye with the hope that one day, I can watch her perform.If we ever meet..over the rainbows.
I told her I wanted hot food and she pointed me to her favourite joint next door to the duty free.
There, at the counter, I meet an Indian gentleman who has been there for 30 years. We spoke in Hindi and laughed a lot while he made me some sandwich and coffee.
I take the sandwich and coffee and find the entire place packed, with only one table with one seat left with a young girl sitting and waiting for someone. I ask her if the seat was taken and she offers it to me. Before I sit down even, she asks my name and introduces herself. A minute later, we are joined by her twin sister and mother and what could have been a lonely meal at an airport, turns out to be one of the most wholesome conversations of the whole trip. Sometimes you meet people and you feel you could be friends with them forever. This trio is one such. They convinced me to come to Norway, where they are from.. and gave me this special Norwegian chocolate. The girls who are turning 18 next week giggle and say it is the best chocolate in the world. The tag line says a ‘small piece of Norway’. Well I believe them completely.
We hugged goodbye only with hopes of meeting in Norway next winter and watching the Northern Lights together.🤞🌸
This is just a snippet of some incredible people I have met on this trip.
Today in this war torn world, what still unites all of us is humanity.
And if you really see it up close, we are not very different from each other after all.
