Susan Sarandon Instagram – On this Indigenous Peoples’ Day, I want to spotlight the incredible leadership of Indigenous communities, doing what needs to be done to defend the planet. We know that in order to halt the worst of the climate crisis we have to keep fossil fuels in the ground. Countless Tribal Nations, Indigenous water protectors, land defenders, pipeline fighters, and many other grassroots formations have dedicated their lives to defending the sacredness of Mother Earth. We must stand in solidarity and call on our leaders to recognize the sovereignty of Indigenous Peoples to decide what happens in their own territories.
