Charles S. Johnson IV Instagram – On April 13, 2016, Charles Johnson, lost his wife Kira to massive internal bleeding post a routine C-section at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles, California, hours after she delivered their son Langston. ⠀ ⠀ (He shares the chilling timeline of how her condition rapidly decreased and his pleas for help were ignored at 4Kira4Moms.com. Read it!) ⠀ ⠀ In response to her unnecessary death and on a mission to improve maternal outcomes, he founded @4Kira4Moms in 2017 to be a voice for other mothers and families facing similar losses and to advocate for policy change. ⠀ ⠀ We know maternal mortality does not just take the lives of the women who are lost and that it changes the lives of those who love them and are left behind forever. ⠀ ⠀ As we approach Father’s Day, we want to honor the men and children who are directly impacted by this crisis and amplify their voices, share their stories and support this fight. ⠀ ⠀ Charles will be joining us via Zoom on Friday, June 17th at 1 pm EST.
