Hugh Wallace Instagram – Last night we went to Aida in the Arena di Verona, where music and history merge. Built around 30 AD, the @arenadiverona is among the best preserved amphitheaters of the Roman period. Over 30,000 spectators were accommodated here in ancient times, as they are still today. The monument was re‐established as a theater during the Renaissance, and in 1913, the tradition of opera at the Arena di Verona began with a 100th anniversary production of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida.
