Christy Turlington Instagram – When societies do not invest in women, they cannot truly develop. As a proud daughter of a strong Salvadoran Mother and advocate for Global Maternal Health, I had the great honor of joining Vice President Kamala Harris, Laurene Powell Jobs and many other leaders for the launch of the #InHerHands initiative. The initiative will drive economic opportunities for women in Northern Central America; a region with one of the highest rates of women-owned businesses, but conversely the highest rate of femicide globally. In Her Hands is working to bring together partners to support the advancement of women across the Americas at scale. To ensure the greatest impact, IHH will work to deliver skill training, digital access, and gender equity for the women of Central America in order to shape a brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities. The Partnership for Central America will coordinate this long-term effort to ensure long-term sustainability and coordinated impact.
