Morning folks. Still in #Egypt so a bit late posting this as haven’t had decent Wifi until now. These are the shots (scroll across) from my @platinummaguk article about my long friendship with those two reprobates @kayeadamsofficial and @nadiasawalha. We did the first ever @loosewomen together and even though our collagen has long left the building, we’re still hanging on in there. In other news, my suitcase finally turned up after a week and, guess what, someone had rummaged through it and removed my shoes, my personal diary 🤷♀️ my make up bag and my wash bag with…my HRT in it 😱 Thanks @egyptair – much appreciated. So needless to say, the woman writing this post looks NOTHING like the one in these glamorous photos. Sometimes, you just put on a dress and feel right at home. You know you can go anywhere in it – dinner, drinks, Xmas party (if we’re allowed to have one 🤷♀️) office, whatever – and it will never look anything but stylish. For me, this is one of those dresses. On loan from small brand @stonedwaisted it’s made (in Suffolk) from 100 per cent needle cord (machine washable) but looks like velvet and comes in pale pink and electric blue too. It’s not cheap but it’s beautifully made (definitely NOT fast fashion) and the fabric quality suggests it will last you for years. @loosewomen @mothershoppers @makeupcouk Shoes by @zara
A huge thank you to everyone for my “happy 60th birthday” messages – I really appreciate it. On yesterday’s @loosewomen the fabulous @brendaedwardsglobal belted out ‘Dancing Queen’ in my honour but sadly the dancing career of the little ballerina in this photo (ie me) turned out to be short-lived thanks to my two left feet. My leotard and sash were home-made by my wonderful mum Pat and I thought I was the bee’s knees. I didn’t know then where life would take me but, crucially, I was loved and always told that I could do anything I set my mind to. Life so far has been a blast and, thanks to my family and friends, I’m looking forward to the rest of it being pretty damned fine too. I’m now going to get very very drunk so, over and out for now, and I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine wherever you are 😎 xx #60th #birthday

My 60th birthday has been quite an extended extravaganza, starting with an on screen party on Monday’s @loosewomen then a gathering of my “Sarf London” girlfriends on Tuesday (pic 2) which conveniently turned out to be the hottest day of the year, and culminating in a wonderful surprise birthday lunch with some of the Loose gang today. I was even honoured by an appearance from Janet! What a wonderful afternoon. Thank you all and a particular big thank you to @mazza.morgan, The Bloke and @kayeadams for organising the fun. And thanks to Kaye for the incredible avocado cake too (my fave brekkie) ❤️❤️

Honoured to be asked to review the papers on Andrew Marr’s last ever Sunday morning show for the BBC today. He’s been at the helm for 16 years and the “best bits” montage showcases what a skilled writer and interviewer he is. @lbc are lucky to have him. I was also on Sir David Frost’s last ever show before he handed the baton to Andrew, but who takes it on next remains to be seen. Big shoes to fill but the show will go on as a Sunday morning must-see for anyone interested in politics. #endofanera #marr #politics

So this is what I was going to wear on @loosewomen today but apparently the combo of cream and the bright studio lights made me look rather ghostly 😂 so I ended up swapping for blue at the last minute. But the cream jumper looks fab for everyday life, is super soft and I love the cut of it. It hangs beautifully. Both tops are by @me_winchmore_hill trousers by @next and cream loafers by @zara Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine 🌞
