Rukmini Vijayakumar Instagram – “Dance with me” is a series that I started during the pandemic through online streaming classes. I’ve had a lot of requests to continue this series, so I’ve decided to have pre-recorded videos on an online streaming platform. I believe that allowing your body to move – and expressing through movement – celebrates one’s body. This, in my view, is the first step of self acceptance and self-love. This “dance with me” series is not about having technical perfection or about judging your movement ability. It’s just about redefining the boundaries of movement that you’ve placed on yourself…. Rukmini Vijayakumar Instagram – I’m going to be teaching a 5 day dance intensive in london in the month of July. It was supposed to happen in 2020, but we’ve finally managed to do it now. It is meant for intermediate- advanced students of Bharatanatyam and will address all aspects of the form over the 5 days. They will be long gruelling days filled with the joy of dance, and you will be learning about alignment, movement dynamics, injury prevention, stamina, theory, rhythm, imagination, abhinaya and anything else I can manage to fit in.
