Sarah Jane Dias Instagram – coffee and anxiety are not friends… . yes, i said it. warning, long read ahead… . it’s taken me two years of therapy and watching what i consume to realise that any kind of excess stimulation, does not work for my body or mind. and yes, that includes coffee. i’m not saying i don’t drink it still, but i’ve just become more mindful about when and how i drink it. for example, if i’m relaxed, on a holiday and in a safe space, i’ll have a regular coffee. however, if it’s a stressful, hectic day and i haven’t eaten well, it’s decaf for me. again, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE COFFEE. and this post isn’t about discouraging you from drinking it, it’s about being mindful about how much stimulation your body can handle, especially, if you’re prone to anxiety. having anxiety means having a super sensitive system, which is over stimulated anyway so what you want to try to do is let your system relax. if you need a caffeine hit to ‘wake you up’ or create something, it’s probably because you haven’t had enough sleep and self care, not because your body doesn’t have the energy to do it. . #anxietyrelief #anxiety #anxietytalk #selfhealers #selfhealersociety #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #instareel #instareels @fegoco #feelgoodcommunity
