Blake Michael Instagram – When I was 12 years old, I was going out on hundreds of auditions but hadn’t booked anything. Looking for any work I could find, I became an extra. Once, my mom and I drove over 8 hours from Atlanta to Louisiana so I could play a dead body in a horror movie. I didn’t have any lines; all I had to do was lay there and look dead. However, after driving all that way, they decided that I looked too old for the role and sent me home.
Facing rejection after rejection wasn’t easy, but I was passionate and determined to succeed. After getting turned away for the extra work, we still pushed on and drove to Nashville for an open casting call — and that’s where I met Disney Channel casting director Judy Taylor.
