Natalie Gumede Instagram – I usually post some reflections – on the previous year or the new – around New Year’s Eve, but this year it took a minute. Haven’t we all had a lot to process?!
I was gifted this beautiful HOPE #blm sweater by @uzmabozai and asked to share some of my hopes for 2021, so of course I thought it was about time for another poem ☺️
I wasn’t actually feeling all that positive today, so I slapped on the warpaint and made my little film here down at the beach (next time I won’t stand SO close to the sea 😆). It brought me out of my head, back into my body, and so I end the day feeling much lighter than I began. If we do that one thing for ourselves (and where we can, for each other) to bring lightness to each day, then 2021 could be a better year than we can currently imagine 🙏🏽 I’m not quite ready to say ‘happy new year’ yet, but I’ve plenty of hope that I soon will 💛💛
