‘Baras’ the reigning Queen of Khursapar!
We were in the park during a period, when even full day safaris in Khursapar had zero sightings for 2 days. The jungles were eerily quiet! All I could hear was my heart say, “Baras I want to see you” … We kept cancelling our other zone bookings and extended one safari after another, in Khursapar with the only hope of seeing Her Highness!
After 3 dry safaris and lost hope, we entered the park for the very last ride of that trip.. @durgesh.sonwane.pench had taken a different track this time unlike all the previous 3 safaris, I call it ‘Feline Guidance’ and you will know why!
Just a few minutes on that route, “Arre yeh toh Baras hai re, yeh chali hai abhi, yahan se” said Durgesh when he spotted pug marks on the road. He followed the trail, and all throughout I was praying, we get at least a glimpse of her.. Though what we got was way more than that!
At the Tee-raha, she lay, in all her glory, taking a break from her morning stroll. All gypsies were lined up behind her, ours being the only one this side.. Taking a longer different route worked for us and how!
Baras gave me ample time to take good shots of her, before she got up and entered the bushes. I wished her to be the First Tiger I get to capture with my new gear, she fulfilled that too, in the most magical way! 💚
