Danny Robertshaw Instagram – HAVEN is the lucky dog chosen 3 months ago to be trained as a service dog and companion for Carolanne, a beautiful young lady going through chemotherapy treatments for mouth cancer. Our good friend, John Martino (insta: @bewareofdogzz) trained and then delivered Haven to Carolanne in Chicago last week; these are photos of their first meeting. “About three months ago I got a call from a friend of mine in Chicago. He asked me how he could get a service dog for his niece who has been diagnosed with cancer and how much it would cost. I volunteered to rescue a dog and to do all the training and get it certified so the dog could accompany her through this horrific ordeal. It’s the second dog I have trained for a child diagnosed with cancer. I can honestly say the hardest thing in my life to date was walking into the oncology center for children. It was so absolutely heart-wrenching. I’ve been blessed with being very successful in my career and living a good life. Going into a facility like that really humbles you and makes you reevaluate what’s really important in life.” John Martino.
