This is how a fighter eats the day of a weight cut when things are done right! Watch this to see how I handled the weight cut diet for my guy @themoroccandevil.
A couple of important things to notice here.
First off, calories are not our concern. We’ve put the work in. We’ve lost body fat. Now, our goal is only to lose water.
We only pull carbs down the last 3 days. Before that, Youssef was eating 250-300g of carbs all through camp, right up until Monday of fight week. Once we pull carbs back, we still want to provide enough calories for energy so we increase fat to make up the difference.
We never stop drinking water. Ever. Even the final day of the cut, we are drinking water.
We never stop eating. Food is fuel and we are preparing for battle.
The final water loss process can be EXTREMELY dangerous if done incorrectly. I have 18 years of weight cut experience and have been researching, evolving, and practicing the entire time. I’ve also spent close to 8 years in school, learning the science behind nutrition and how to apply it for various goals. Do not try this at home and do not hire someone unqualified to help you.
This is not a method to lose body fat. This is a method to make weight in a weight class sport. If you’re trying to lose body fat, this is not the way. Weight Loss & Fat Loss are not the same.
