Ali Bastian Instagram – Pumping and me! We hear a lot about a breastfeeding journeys but not so much about the hugely intamate, important relationships we have with our trusty breast pumps! When I reflect on the past two years and three months of breast feeding, pumping has played a huge part! I pumped at the beginning to get my supply up, Isla had a touch of jaundice and was a biiiig baby, possibly due to my gestational diabetes and so I was on quite the feeding and pumping regime. I pumped to create a stash of milk in the freezer in case anything happened to me and I couldn’t feed, also with the (optimistic) aim of someone else being able to give her the odd bottle or night feed. I gently pumped at 2am at the kitchen table to ease painful engorgement on the (very few) occasions my daughter slept through one of her night feeds. I pumped when I was away filming to keep my supply up. Not a lot of people know this… but I was even pumping when my husband photographed my most recent acting head shot! 😂😂😂 Multi- tasking is my middle name these days! .
