Amy Jackson Instagram – Black bears are still being slaughtered in Canada to create caps for the Queen’s Guard, even though @PETA has created a faux fur alternative that looks and performs just like the real thing – and meets all of the Ministry of Defence’s requirements for a replacement. Bears are gunned down, speared, or shot with bows and arrows, and in some areas there are no restrictions on killing nursing mothers, whose cubs also die without their protection. In the past 7 years alone, over £1 million of taxpayers’ money was spent on bearskin caps, but faux bear fur is being offered to the MoD free of charge until 2030, so there’s no excuse!
