I knew I wanted to adopt a senior pup #rescuedog I knew the young ones will be taken care of, it’s the elder/senior dogs that really need a loving home. Jackson (Jax/Jackie) has been helping me with my #mentalhealth and #agoraphobia He is ALWAYS smiling and it makes me laugh.

Jack came to the care of LAPS in June after his elderly owner sadly passed away. This senior Chihuahua was super sweet but unfortunately, Jack had several health problems causing him a lot of discomfort. After extensive vet visits, blood work, and ultrasounds, it was discovered that Jack’s troubles ranged from periodontal disease to a probable cancerous mass on his Pancreas.
Regardless of his health problems, Jack is the happiest guy you will ever meet. You would never know he had so much going on inside. We knew we owed it to Jack to give him all the love and care he deserved for the days he had left. Fortunately, a kind-hearted community member heard about Jack and instantly fell in love. This week, he was adopted into a loving home where his palliative care needs will be exceeded in every way. We are so excited that Jack has found the second chance he so deserved.
Jack is not the first senior animal in need of extensive medical care that we’ve helped this year, and he won’t be the last.
