Sunny Mabrey Instagram – We lost an absolute legend the other day.. my Aunt Jo Ann. She was pure gold. One of a kind. Her dry, self-deprecating, no-nonsense humor and razor sharp wit delighted me so much that I constantly shared stories about her to my friend in LA, @laurengerman, which resulted in Lauren’s slight obsession with her from afar, which, in turn, prompted Aunt Jo Ann to get pretend mad when I made videos to “show that girl”, but secretly be flattered and highly pleased about it. 😂💖 Aunt Jo Ann made the #1 best dressin’ (stuffing for all you non-southerners) and the most insane coconut cake this side of the Mississippi. She loved antiques, cross stitching, and asking me what I thought about celebrities, such as “Brad Pitts”, but most of all, she fiercely loved her family and friends. Aunt Jo Ann called many of us everyday, quite often when we’d just sat down to eat. I wish she’d interrupt my “supper” just one more time, but I think she’s having too much fun now. I count myself highly blessed to have known her and look forward to laughing with her again one day along with Jesus and her “mama ‘n daddy”— whom she said she was “going to see” there at the end. Her feet began to “walk” in her bed, and not long afterward, she stepped into a realm where there is no more death or crying or pain. So, when I say we “lost” her, it’s really just a temporary problem.
