Today Ghana celebrates 64 years of independence from British colonial rule. I am a very proud Ghanaian and in the words of the first president of Ghana, the great Kwame Nkrumah “I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me.”
However, as said beautifully and so perfectly by @afuathescot “The freedom and justice we have achieved means nothing unless it applies to all our citizens including the LGBTQ community in Ghana. None of us are free until all of us are free.” 🏳️🌈🖤
