I feel a deep shock and sadness but so honoured to have spent meaningful time with a true hero, a true survivor who never let the weight of his experiences overshadow his positivity and light.
Uncle Jack had a way with words, a way of truth telling that was truly unique, the second clip is from when we recorded ‘Survive’. Uncle listened to the song once and just began to talk about his experiences with survival, we captured this clip and audio about five minutes in, Uncle Jack continued to tell his story for another three hours, it was heartbreaking, inspiring and joyful all at once. Mostly, it was a real honour, a privilege and a day that I will always treasure.
