On the occasion of the celebration of the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death and the 200th anniversary of Napoleon Bonaparte’s death, BreraPLUS the online channel of the Pinacoteca di Brera, presents Great Men a play that, through the exploration of the lives of Napoleon Bonaparte and Dante Alighieri, allows for significant connections between the experience of forced estrangement-geographical, cultural or spiritual-from one’s homeland of origin and family relationships.
Written by Emily Renée, a young English playwright and already an established writer, director and actress, Great Men brings out a delicate and complex plot of parental, human and intimate relationships.
In the little-known setting of the cloister of the Church of Santa Maria dell’Incoronata in Milan, the film, in its original language with Italian subtitles, will be enjoyed outdoors and with a stereo sound system on wireless headphones.
