If you’re reading this, thank you. Thank you for your time, energy, love and support. The world was a very different place 3 years ago, when we were making this film, let alone nearly 4 decades, when this story takes place. However, one thing remains a constant. That human need to CONNECT. The desire to reach out in the darkness, and hope that there isn’t just nothing there, but perhaps, a light, will indeed shine. There is a light, for ALL OF US. We just need to find it; we are on this journey to find that light! Thank you to EVERYONE whom made this film possible, for all of the long hours. The BLOOD. The SWEAT. The TEARS. If not for you, well, there would be no inspiration for this film, and who knows how we, the outcasts, who frequented your music to get by, would have made it through the years. From browsing and perusing through the social networking apps, I’ve noticed a common theme. Loneliness. Feelings of not having a sense of worth or purpose. Not really feeling like there’s much to stick around for. With the film Madelines Madeline, I believe many people in their lives experience what Madeline experience(d), even if they were/are never in the world of performance. How many people have felt or have been exploited at some point in their lives? How many people, when exploited, then have a loss of identity? Or a sense of self that seems to be missing? How many people have been taken advantage of, for the sake of being “helped”? How many people walk around with their heads held DOWN because of a fucking diagnosis? If you look around, you will realize that we are not that different. We have many more things in common than we would have ourselves believe. So why feel so alone? So helpless and hopeless? The more we TALK about how we FEEL the LESS ALONE we will be. #madelinesmadeline #youareenough #youarenotalone #together

The human experience. What is it? Not limited. Infinite. In flux. Flowing with every moment. Why are we in a constant chase to find it when we are experiencing it every single day of our lives? WE ARE THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE. Yet, somehow, we have reached a point in society, humanity, for constant desire. To NEED or WANT something else, constantly. The human RACE, racing to find what it is they are after-never satiated, never satisfied. Why? Because of social media? Because of #fomo? Because of the illusion someone has created and now it must be true?… We all have moments of highs and lows. That doesn’t mean that you will always be there. We are flowing. I wanted to create something (using videos throughout 2020-21) to capture the moments of being human. I am a human being just like you and we are all more alike than you would EVER believe. I cry and laugh and dance and have moments where sometimes I just wish I could hide under the covers. I see so many things in this world and wonder, “why isn’t anything happening to change this!?! It’s absolutely horrendous!” I see other things and think, “wow this is such a beautiful world!” Everyday, I am blessed to be ALIVE. It is so easy to get caught up in everything that is taking place right now. There is SO MUCH. However, what about YOU? Where do you fit in to the equation? Do you ever take time out of your day to do anything for yourself? To just BREATHE? And I know that sounds silly we have to breathe in order to still be living, but do you BREATHE? Do you fill your whole body with air, expanding your lungs and diaphragm as far as they can go and exhale? If not, try it. We are more powerful together than divided. More than ever, we need to come together, United, as ONE. Live your life, not according to anyone, not following any rules or handbooks, but listening to your own SELF. TIME has ALWAYS been NOW.
In the theater, you learn this word. Ensemble. Comprised of a group, a company, UNITY amongst/within the WHOLE BODY. In any production (and this can be applied to many fields of work in life), EVERY. SINGLE. person that is there, sacrificing time and energy to be able to do what they love to do/have been trained to do (having a certain skill set), IS IMPORTANT. They play a vital role in making the technicalities of the production, seamlessly function. Whether they be part of the preproduction, production, or postproduction phase, each individual brings what they can to create the best possible finished product. Enough with “cast” and “crew”. The way I see it-we are all part of the CREW. In the eyes of the studios and major investors, it doesn’t matter HOW it was done-just that it GOT done, and that there will be profit seen from it all. TOGETHER, We are a a full functioning machine. Without one piece, we cannot operate. To take that for granted, well, you might as well say you don’t care about the result… At the end of the day these are still HUMAN BEINGS. With feelings and ideas; whom need to eat and sleep and see the appropriate benefits for all of the hard work, day in and day out. Thank you to all of the hardworking, DEDICATED, and passionate persons, whom, without, none of what we see could ever really be possible. #iasolidarity
