After a full two years of searching, researching, hoping,resting, working, sweating, and intention setting: the community urban farm is here!
Here’s the lowdown:
🌱it’s located in my neighborhood, the historically black part of LA: Leimert Park. Also, Chumash Tongva Territory.
🌱right now it’s a blank canvas! Raw land that is being happily cleared by my goat friends from @venturabrushgoats
🌱I’m clearing around 1200 sq feet right now, and working with LA Land Trust The Community Garden Council to secure the adjacent lots for farming!
🌱The land cost 130k, and through your donations totaling to over 40k, creating sponsored content in alignment with my voice intention as an artist and grower I was able purchase this plot (shoutout to eating rice and beans though)
🌱I can’t wait to begin bringing volunteers onto the land, but for now I’m letting the goats do their thing. And letting the soil rest.
Thank you endlessly for all your support throughout the process. Specifically my @imgmodels fam, my @origins team, my @natgeotv fam,my real estate agent @garrettwarrenofficial , all of you who gave 5 & 10 dollar donations because you want to see the dream through, all of you who were able to redistribute your abundance, and of course to my black and brown community who dreamed this into existence.
