Lena Dunham Instagram – Happy New Year to my Jewish instafamily- I am raising a cup of tea to you. The Jewish people blow the Shofar in order to sound a call that says: “Sleepers, wake up from your slumber! Examine your ways and repent and remember your Creator.” Whatever you believe, it’s a wonderful day to think about where you’ve been, where you’re going and what kind of life you want to lead. This year I loved my friends and family fiercely, I demanded more from myself and my art and I accepted the fact that I needed to treat my body with care if it was going to put up with me for another, say, 60 years. I wasn’t patient enough with those closest to me, I didn’t compromise when it was called for and I was terrible about taking out the “bins” as they call the trash in England. And this is just what I can acceptably write on Instagram 😂 Any day that demands self reflection and silence is a day I feel lucky to honor. Happy Rosh Hashanah.
