β€œAre our freedoms in jeopardy now more than ever?

πŸ• Today at 11:11 am EDT, we launch 16 unique “Four Freedoms” photographs as 1/1 NFTs on @assemblyprojects. First conceived by artists @hankwillisthomas & @forfreedoms and co-created by @emilyshur @ericgottesman and myself, these images reimagine Norman Rockwell’s iconic 1943 paintings based on Franklin D. Roosevelt’s four fundamental human freedoms:

FREEDOM OF SPEECH
FREEDOM FROM FEAR
FREEDOM FROM WANT
FREEDOM OF WORSHIP

In 2018, For Freedoms gathered friends, artists, activists, community organizers to reimagine these freedoms to embrace America’s diversity and multitude of perspectives. These images have an agenda too: To catalyze people who have felt left out to contribute their own voice to the political process. To stand for something, to speak up, or to just feel empowered to participate.

In our present moment, we see these images anew in our ongoing pursuit of justice. Each 1/1 NFT will unlock access to For Freedoms events in conjunction with our ongoing #AnotherJustice initiative. 20% of proceeds to benefit our upcoming launch of The Center for Justice at UCLA. Tap the link in bio for access.

Parisa Fitz-Henley Instagram – Thinking so much about the intersection of racism and migration today as we witness their complexities in the face of war. I’m now feeling even more grateful to take part in this IG Live with @tahirihjustice β€” a secular organization based on Baha’i principles, dedicated to supporting immigrant women and girls fleeing gender-based violence. They do this with inclusivity around gender expression and identity, and by advocating β€œboth for individual immigrant survivors and to change the systems that are complicit in the conditions of their oppression.” Their certainty that anti-racism is integral to this work is so powerful and gives me so much hope. This also happens to be during the yearly celebratory period BahÑ’ís call Ayyam-i-Ha, when we give gifts, and enjoy fellowship and acts of charity and service. To honor that Jennifer and I will be making cookies together on the live. So please join us to listen, to ask questions, make or decorate your own cookies, or pray for two people who don’t do a lot of lives whose attempt at baking for one could provide some comic relief. πŸ€“πŸͺπŸ”₯πŸ™ We look forward to sharing it all with you. Love, Parisa

I’m looking into camera. Text: β€œWe hope you will tune into our Instagram Live with actress @ParisaFH and Tahirih staff member Jennifer Jackson for a special discussion about Black history, Black BahΓ‘ΚΌΓs, and Tahirih’s commitment to anti-racism. #BlackHistoryMonthΒ
