I moved in time to vote in NC, the very first state I ever voted in. All you need is proof of address (bill, pay stubs etc) 30 days or more of residency & you’re DTF. Here’s my last minute plea with folks: please take nothing for granted. Polls don’t win elections. There are forces at work & we can’t anticipate every crazy ass thing that might go down the next few days. Fight for every single vote. We don’t have to convince our Trump uncles to vote Biden but there are practical ways to help folks who have voted blue in the past, show up to the polls. Today I met one guy who seemed confused why I was at his door asking him if he had a plan to vote. I told him I’m with New Hanover Democrats & asked if he needed help or voting info. He said “wait you’re with Democrats?? Who is the democrat again??” I said Joe Biden and he said “oh yea yea yea of course I would vote for him” then he asked when voting was over. I gave him the address & hours of his early polling site which was half a mile away. He didn’t realize it was so close. He thanked me for reminding him and told me he would take his wife. Everyday there are moments like that & all the tedious work is worth it. It’s nuts and bolts shit & sometimes just getting super basic information to people. It’s not sexy but it helps!
