Virginia Madsen Instagram – Ray was a star after all. And I hope he knew it. He never played up the title, just tried to get through the day or the endless night shoot. I don’t know how he died but I have some idea of what he left behind. Kindness, red hot talent, professionalism, beauty and a love of story telling. That’s all we do really. Ray would often call acting “playing pretend”. We would play in this pretend sandbox and when it was good we went home happy. When it wasn’t, we went home exhausted in many, many ways that no one can understand. He left us with so much to look back on. I can imagine him flying free or maybe dancing. Free of all of this. So long old friend. It was nice knowing you for a little while. And thanks for the laughs. Your arms felt good around me.

When I heard ‘CANDYMAN’ was playing, I tagged @virginiamadsen in the post. Then, @narcissusholmes and I started chatting about getting her out to the Bev to possibly introduce the film. I reached out to my good pals at the theatre and connected everyone and next thing we knew, Virginia was set to introduce the film! WHAT?!? And what an introduction! Hearing that she was actually allergic to bees 🐝 and they had medics standing by while everyone else hid behind glass on set! What a trooper!
