Al Gore Instagram – On March 21, the spring equinox, the DSCOVR satellite took images every ~15 minutes, resulting in this beautiful view of a day in the life of our planet.
But what you can’t see is that with every full rotation of our Earth – every 24 hours – we spew 162 million tons of human-caused greenhouse gas pollution into our atmosphere as if it were an open sewer. The consequences of our actions are apparent in the form of more frequent and severe droughts, wildfires, heatwaves, floods, and extreme weather.
While this remains true on this #EarthDay, we must commit ourselves to building a better future for our planet and each other. Scientists and communities on the frontlines of the #climatecrisis continue to warn us. We cannot continue to ignore them.
