Arnas Fedaravicius Instagram – On this day 32 years ago Lithuania’s independence was restored after more than 45 years of being occupied by the soviet union.
We’re a tiny country but our will to be free was and is massive.
I guess the lesson back then might have been that even if the odds are against you, but collectively you stand for something that you know in your heart is right and for the good of the people, you will prevail. How strange is it that we’re having to observe this same lesson in 2022?
Ukrainians have always stood by my country and supported our choice to be sovereign and responsible for our own future.
Today is our turn to stand in solidarity and do everything and anything we can to help Ukraine maintain that freedom.
I don’t think history repeats itself, I think it’s us humans who like repeating it.
Lastly, I’ve spent a couple years in Russia and have made really close friends there and I know for a fact that they do not want this and that the voices of those speaking against the war are being shut down. Just wanted to acknowledge that We stand with you too.
