Magical day in Sherwood Forrest ✨ Home to the biggest Oak tree in England, thought to be around 1000 years old. Course that beauty got hugged. Said hello to Robin & his merry men while I was there to. You can see what Kedar and I got up to soon ✌🏼💚

I’m delighted to say I’m teaming up with @lenovo_uki and 3 fellow Changemakers over the next couple months to bring you our #ThinkOutLoud Campaign. We’re going to be coming together and delving into discussion about a variety of topics, exploring how conversation, technology and group thinking aids our work, while also looking to tackle some of the bigger issues we, society and our planet face. Lenovo will also very kindly be highlighting my work around our planet, climate change, wildlife and young people. I’m looking forward to seeing how this journey unfolds, what comes out of our discussion and most importantly what we learn and how we can take that forward in our work. Massive thank you to #LenovoUK for choosing me and having me involved ✌🏼 #ThinkSeries30 #ad
It is here my friends! The People’s Plan for Nature! A bold, ambitious plan by the people, for the people, our planet & all those who call it home. What is it? Well… Unsurprisingly, over the last couple of weeks, the UK Government announced a series of measures that could threaten vital protections for nature. The consequences of these announcements are disastrous for nature, the natural world and in turn our selves. The U.K is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. We’ve lost over 50% of our bio diversity since 1970. It’s tough, sad and overwhelming but we mustn’t lose hope. We can turn it around. It’s never been more important for you to have your say and use your voice. And although it may not feel like it, you do have a voice. It matters and it’s important. Which is why today, three of the UK’s biggest conservation charities, @wwf_uk @nationaltrust and @rspb_love_nature have come together to ensure your voices are heard, through the creation of a People’s Plan for Nature. This is more than a conversation. Every idea, comment or thought that you put forward will help shape a plan to protect and restore nature that’s too big to ignore. Together we can make a real difference. I’m proud to be supporting The People’s Plan for Nature. It’s rare we have an opportunity where we can all come together for UK nature and feed into a shared vision. One that restores & protects our precious lands, wildlife, plants & eco systems. So, join me and submit your thoughts on the future of UK nature on peoplesplanfornature.org by the 30th October. (Link in bio) Peace & love ✌🏼💚
The Living Planet Report is one of the most comprehensive reports on the health of our planet, climate and wildlife. This years report is the most sobering and disastrous yet. To put it bluntly we are very much on the brink, nature even more so. What we do now and over the next few years will decide whether we succeed or fail in turning things around. We seem to forget that everything we do to nature, we do unto ourselves. Released today, it shows the size of global wildlife populations have plummeted by 69% on average since 1970. Just let that sink in. Latin America and the Caribbean has seen an average decline of 94% in the size of its wildlife populations since 1970. The UK only has 53% of its historic biodiversity left, making it one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world countries in the world. What’s clear is that year on year, we carry on decimating the natural world at an exponential rate with no thought for the consequences. This shows has been a total lack of response, action and commitment to previous warnings. Nothing but empty promises, tokenistic actions and total lack of commitment to change. The hypocrisy is frightening. The alarm bells have been ringing for decades but as of today they have never been ringing more loudly and clearly, something has to give. This cannot be the moment we go back on promises and commitments. This cannot be the moment we continue with business as usual and these warnings fall on deaf ears. This has to be the moment Governments, corporations, industries, institutions wake up, take responsibility and act accordingly. Not forgetting the power and the voice we all have. As bleak and overwhelming as this all sounds and it is. I can also say the roadmap to recovery is lay out before us. We can turn things around. It’s not to late. The solutions, science and policy is all out there, at our finger tips. We just have to make the right choice and walk down the right path. The natural world, it’s plants, species & future generations need us now more than ever. If we’re still having this conversation in 5/10 years we’ve lost. Let’s fight to make sure that isn’t so.
It’s here… Final series of No Place But the Water is out now! Series 3 is on @bbcradio4 this week and all episodes are available on @bbcsounds now. I’ve loved being a part of this world over the last few years, created by the genius of Linda Marshall Griffiths. A poignant, timely, thought provoking story brought to life be a great cast, expertly directed by @nadiamolinari1 x
