Common Instagram – It’s hard to fathom it’s been 30 years since Can I Borrow A Dollar?. I can definitely remember going around promoting the album and getting as many people to listen to it as I could. The album is so monumental for me because it was the first time I was being recognized as an MC and an artist. It was my first album! I’d always dreamt of being heard but also wanted to represent the culture of Hip Hop from the perspective of Chicago. It was that first step towards this journey that I’m walking today and I’m proud to represent myself, 87th Street, the South Side of Chicago, and all my homies with this album. The album wouldn’t have happened without @cubansoze, @the_twilite_tone, @derekd1971, Peter Kang (who signed me at Relativity Records), @thebeatnuts, Fashion, Kirk Yano and everyone else who helped in the process. I just want to give thanks because they were the ones who helped create this dream.
