Hisham Tawfiq Instagram – This photo warms my heart and gives me chills at the same time. My sweet son, Nizami is joyfully running on the lawn of the famous Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. These are the hallowed grounds that his grandmother (my wife’s mother), Minnijean Brown Trickey (Little Rock Nine) desegregated exactly 65 years ago, facing a vicious, violent mob and had to have the 101st Airborne Division federal troops protect her and the other eight students from persistent violence throughout the school year. My family was in Little Rock last week to commemorate the anniversary. Huge congratulations to the Little Rock Nine who were honored with the renaming of the street in front of the school to “Little Rock Nine Way.”
