Hi my name is Billinda but my friends call me B. Like Martin I’m a proud kiwi (New Zealander). In Dec. I decided I needed to do something regularly to look after my wellbeing so I set up a wellbeing platform where I post inspirational quotes and set wellbeing challenges. On the 25th March the whole of New Zealand went into lockdown due to Covid-19 and it was during this time I decided to start interviewing inspiring people to talk about what they were doing to look after their wellbeing in the hope to inspire and encourage others. I was lucky enough to chat with Martin. On the 7th of August there was an article in the New Zealand Herald which caught my eye and sparked an idea, with a new direction in interviewing inspiring people. The article was encouraging people to get behind a new website loneliness.org.nz with the aim ‘Let’s End Loneliness’ because conquering loneliness in New Zealand will improve the wellbeing of our population. I started researching and found loneliness is a serious worldwide public health problem. And now more than ever people are unable to come together in the physical sense because of the pandemic. It got me thinking…what can I do during this time of isolation for many to help make them smile, to give them a positive, lifelong memory? And that is when I approached Martin who loved the idea of bringing people together all over the world to chat.

Tried posting this last week but seems I violated copyright law by using a Keith Jarrett track (The Köln Concert – part 1 – a must listen if you’ve never heard it) and had to take it down. So…here it is with a less evocative score from iMovie, but it does the trick and I won’t end up in Jail. Also the title, Nuestra Casa, seems fitting since this was our home for the past few months.
