Here in Liverpool for the Intl Beatles Festival, Earl Slick, Andy Newmark and I haven’t all played together since the 1980 Double Fantasy sessions! Biggest surprise: Earl and I accidentally somewhat coordinated our axe colors. (I’ve got my Coral Red MusicMan Cutlass, 2 strings flatwound, two roundwound – no frills! He brought his Dakota Red Nash guitar.)
One of the images from my Crimson Collection just cried out to be on a t-shirt! Shirt available at: https://bit.ly/3M4OAYb Prints available at: https://tonylevinprints.com #kingcrimson

Just a note that Stick Men has been writing and recording new material for the last few months, and we’re gearing up to bounce back… I should say Spring back, since our U.S. Canada tour is booked for April. Check my website for dates.
Just when you think things couldn’t get much more special… The Stick Men show in Liverpool, NY was great, then afterward a young artist give me her drawing of the band with the spirit of John Wetton hovering over it. Pretty special, I’d say.

We’ve just hit the road with Stick Men, and last night’s Rochester show was great. But the day before was a sad goodbye to an old friend – Robert Frazza’s silver van that we’ve travelled in for countless East Coast tours, and two or three trips around the whole country. Truthfully, it’s not the first time we said goodbye to it, thinking it had finally died… but now it’s clearly got too many issues to get us through this tour. The van was mentioned in the song “Prog Noir”… “we’ve sailed that silver road so long” and, on the Crimson Projekct tour around the U.S, I spent much of it in the back seat working on a quilt (yes!) that, had I finished it, would to show the silver van meandering along a winding road. (Yes, as you’d guess, quilting in a bouncy van presents some challenges.) Then, there were the years it had an unstoppable seatbelt warning, with beeping, that came on many times a day. It got so we could sing along, in harmony with, I think, the 42 beeps. It’s a bittersweet goodbye, and it’s a rental van for this tour.

The vagaries of the road: Stick Men yesterday morning in Syracuse, facing snow, sleet, 34 degrees and a long drive. Then today, day off in Kingston, 60 degrees, enjoying the sun in my cigar/haiku spot.
