It happened- we did it! We made art during uncertain times. Black girl joy was shining at The Booth Theater on Broadway. Lifting up Ntozake Shange and her brilliant choreopoem. I am so honored to have led the Broadway revival. Cheers to everyone who made this possible. Love to the cast, creative team, and crew. You are all amazing. It takes a team, and I am honored to have had your encouragement and support for my Broadway Directorial Debut! Thank you to my tribe who helped me in so many ways! Thank you to the community for helping to extend the show to June 5th. Our show garnered 7 Tony nominations, 3 Drama League nominations, 3 Chita Rivera Nomination, 3 Outer Critics Circle nominations, and 2 Drama Desk nominations.
