Cecily Strong Instagram – I just learned today is GBM Awareness Day. This is my dear friend Dr. Henry Friedman who along with being the most avid texter I know (I get all my news stories from him now, sorry iPhone news) and a big fan of making his own memes (having learned from Broadway star but also social media savvy @sydneylucasnyc ), he is also one of the top neuro-oncologists in the world. He is constantly researching ways to fight this awful cancer while at the same time treating patients and their families with more love and care than I thought could be possible after all the sadness he must experience in his job. He was the first to even bring up the word “cure” for my family. He’s a hero for so many, and also a goof who loves Broadway and late night comedy. My friend @halanscott told me early on that he was surprised how bawdy and silly oncologists can be and we laughed about it, but dang he isn’t wrong! Bless you forever, Henry, for bringing real hope to the world. I know I am only one of the many lives you’ve touched and made better during the most difficult times. Cheers to you, Henry. And as always- cheers to you, O.
