Denise Soong Ee Lyn Instagram – study strategies which worked in school, and at work for me! (& advice I give my students every day) 1. never spend too much time practicing to the point of feeling burnt out. At some time, quality is truly better than quantity. Rather than working on new practice papers, I spent the time reviewing my mistakes, finding out misconceptions I had, and taking the time to fix those by going to my friends/superiors. 2. active recall is something I do a lot of in my classes. (Even in classes I teach now.) This is a method of retrieving information from your brain using specific triggers. I use keywords to help trigger relevant concepts for my students, so they are able to quickly identify what a question is asking for, and what concept is needed to solve it 3. mindmaps! drawing mind maps helps my mind to link everything I have learnt, in a visual manner, and allows me to see the big picture, which is something that is commonly neglected, when we spend too much time fixating on individual chapters.
